Using Mineral Foundation Wet or Dry
Lots of people would like to use mineral foundation. But they do not want to lose the coverage that their current liquid foundation gives them. They are just not aware that you can use mineral foundation wet or dry. Both methods offer big benefits. You need to know how to wear mineral foundation wet and dry. This will help you get the best results at any time regardless of your skin’s current condition.
Always use a special horsehair brush to apply mineral foundation. You will use this brush whether you use the foundation wet or dry. Be sure that you keep the brush clean so that you can reuse it each day.
Using mineral foundation dry gives you very light coverage. This does not mean that you can see blemishes through the makeup. It does mean that foundation will feel very light on your face. But you will be able to layer on mineral powder foundation to cover lines and irregularities.
Here are some of the benefits that you get from using mineral foundation as dry powder:
* It reflects light out of lines, creases and wrinkles. This will decrease the signs of aging. The mica flakes in mineral powder foundation work slightly more effectively when dry.
* It feels as if you have no makeup on. The powder adheres to your skin and creates a smooth, natural surface.
* You will have the option of sleeping in your dry mineral foundation. It is better to remove makeup if you have the option. Dry mineral foundation is less likely to block your pores overnight.
To apply mineral foundation dry, simply swirl the horsehair brush in the powder. Tap excess powder from the brush. Apply the powder to your face using a circular buffing motion. You can apply as many layers as you like. You will get results that look light, bright and natural. You can apply other cosmetics over the mineral foundation if you like.
Some people’s preference is to use mineral foundation wet. They feel that wet mineral foundation gives them better coverage. This is mostly a personal preference, as mineral foundation covers evenly either way. Mineral foundation, when used wet, can give you a more “made up” look that people find glamorous. This look may be less natural, but people may find it more professional. Also, it provides a great palate for additional makeup. Apply mineral foundation wet by first dipping the brush in dry mineral powder. Tap the powder off the brush and into your palm or the lid. Never get the entire container of mineral foundation wet at once. Swirl the foundation around with the damp brush. This will make a liquid mineral foundation on the brush. Smooth it on with your fingers if you like.
You can of course wear mineral foundation wet and dry. You will adore your natural look when you wear your mineral foundation.
